Traditional marketing as we knew it is over. And it’s not coming back! What did work before will not work now. Not because we have access to social media. Because of the
way we communicate. Today, you must move your business with your message, not with media. People want to be motivated and inspired. That sounds reasonable, but how do you know what to say and when to say it? Before I answer that question, let me share a little bit about myself and why I am the best person for you to listen to. From the time I was in high school, I always wanted to own my own business. Being a baby boomer, I was encouraged to “get a good education so I could get a good job.” I did that, however, there was always something missing in my life. So, after being downsized from a job I loved, I “officially” went into business for myself . I thought I was on my way to a million dollar business until the bottom fell out. If it was one thing I learned from my failed attempt at a franchise, it was how to develop and use creative marketing strategies. That’s when I started my local marketing company and just a short time later, I received the Trailblazer Award from NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners). Then came the Internet. I began marketing online long before there was Facebook and Twitter. The results were awesome. In two short years, I managed to triple my profits. And what’s even more fascinating is that I did it mostly with people I have never met in person.
